🦄 Skindred estrenan su nuevo tema “You Got This” y confirman disco para abril
Como ya adelantamos hace unos días, el nuevo tema de Skindred, “You Got This”, ya ha visto la luz este 5 de noviembre. La banda británica regresa con una descarga de energía que recuerda inevitablemente a su anterior éxito “Gimme That Boom” del álbum Smile Please.
Analizando el nuevo material, encontramos algo interesante: esta vez Skindred no han buscado reinventarse, sino potenciar al máximo aquello que mejor saben hacer. Es como si le hubiesen metido un par de botellas de Red Bull a su propio sonido: riffs afilados, bases rítmicas con groove y ese inconfundible toque caribeño-electrónico marca de la casa.
“You Got This” es una fusión perfecta entre “That’s My Jam” y “Gimme That Boom”, un híbrido explosivo que combina el metal más cañero con destellos de música disco ochentera.
Sin embargo, no todo son buenas noticias. En el videoclip y el lanzamiento destaca la ausencia del bajista y miembro fundador Daniel John Pugsley, quien anunció su salida de la banda apenas un día antes del estreno. Una despedida amarga para los fans más veteranos, pero desde aquí solo podemos desearle lo mejor en su nueva etapa.
El nuevo álbum, que llevará el mismo nombre que el single, You Got This, saldrá el próximo 17 de abril y ya puede reservarse en la web oficial del grupo. Estará disponible en varios formatos: desde el clásico vinilo hasta CD y edición digital.

🎸 Skindred release new single “You Got This” and announce new album for April 2025
As we teased a few days ago, Skindred’s brand new single “You Got This” finally dropped on November 5th, and it’s exactly what fans were hoping for — a pure blast of energy that instantly recalls their previous hit “Gimme That Boom” from the album Smile Please.
Listening to the new track, it’s clear that this time Skindred didn’t try to reinvent themselves. Instead, they’ve doubled down on what works best for them, injecting it with a double shot of adrenaline — or maybe a few cans of Red Bull.
“You Got This” feels like a fusion between “That’s My Jam” and “Gimme That Boom” — an explosive mix where Skindred’s heavy metal grooves collide with vibrant ’80s disco vibes. The result? A song that feels fresh, familiar, and full of life.
But not everything is good news. The band’s longtime bassist and founding member Daniel John Pugsley announced his departure from Skindred just one day before the single’s release. His absence is noticeable in both the song’s visuals and spirit. For longtime fans like us, it’s a bittersweet moment — but all we can do is wish him the very best in whatever comes next.
The band also revealed that their next album will share the same title, You Got This, and it’s set to be released on April 17th, 2025. Pre-orders are already open through their official website, with several formats available — from vinyl for nostalgic collectors to CD and digital editions.
